Is Diablo 2 still worth trying?

So I have been looking for a coop game to play with a friend of mine, something a little different. For years now I've heard nothing but good about Diablo 2. I was thinking of trying it but was just wondering, is it still good? I know it's fairly stagnant genre so it's probably still got something to offer.
